What is the Foreign Exchange Market

The Foreign Currency Exchange, often referred to as the Forex or FX Market, is the world’s largest financial market, with approximately $4 trillion dollars traded daily.

The “goods” being traded are currencies of various countries, with the majority of the action involving the so-called major currencies: the United States dollar (USD), the European euro (EUR), the Japanese yen (JPY), the British pound sterling (GBP), the Swiss franc (CHF) Consolidated Helvetica Franc, the Australian dollar (AUD) & Canadian dollar (CAD).

With the explosion of internet usage, the Forex market has become accessible to almost anyone and we can choose to participate.

Very simply, if a currency is strengthening we buy it and conversely, if a currency is weakening we sell it.
